About me

Born and raised in England, I re-located to the Netherlands in 2003 and live near Leiden with my 2 dogs. I play squash on a regular basis and love watching tennis, rugby and field hockey, as well as reading and doing sudoku puzzles.

Key words people have used to describe me include open, non-judgmental, dependable and grounded and they mentioned that I seek harmony and make people feel at ease.

If I were asked to describe myself, it would be a friendly, loyal, dependable person who holds herself accountable.

Coaching background

Supporting team members to develop skills and grow professionally and personally was always a priority for me, and I was often asked to present in programs run by the AkzoNobel Finance Academy, which encouraged fellow accountants in their development.

When I made the decision to pursue coaching as a career, I signed up with Henley Business School, UK and in 2021, graduated with a PCEC (Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching) which is triple accredited with the ICF, AC and EMCC. Currently, I am studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching for Behavioural Change.

I also followed a Positive Intelligence course, run by Shirzad Chamine and Bill Carmody and completed the training to become a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach (CPQC). Not only does this mean I can incorporate this into my coaching sessions but I can also guide peple through the Mental Fitness program.

I am a current member of the Assocation of Coaching and take full advantage of my membership to add tools and techniques to use in my coaching, as well as to network with fellow coaches.

Accountancy background

I discovered accounting at University and immediately took to it like a duck to water. It became one of the topics I majored in for the European Business Studies degree and I then went on to become a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW and am now a Fellow Chartered Accountant.

I soon realised that auditing was not for me and I wanted to be at the heart of a company and be responsible for the financials. After 2 years working for a Swedish Paper Sacks company, I took a role as Management Accountant for the chemicals division of AkzoNobel in UK and remained with that organisation for just over 20 years.
